Additionally, Instagram is deploying machine learning technology to quickly detect accounts that might violate its rules, especially those targeting young users. When suspicious behavior is flagged, the platform will restrict messaging capabilities and make it harder for these accounts to interact with teens.
The initiative is part of Instagram’s broader strategy to create a safer digital environment for minors, following increasing scrutiny from regulators and advocacy groups. Over the last few years, Instagram has introduced measures like making accounts for users under 16 private by default and limiting interactions with unknown adults.
