Indosat Sparks AI Evolution in Eastern Indonesia
Bringing AI to the Archipelago
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) has unveiled its latest initiative to democratize AI by launching the region’s first AI Experience Center in the eastern part of Indonesia. Located in Ambon, the capital of Maluku province, the center is designed to be a hub for digital empowerment through artificial intelligence education and innovation. This move is part of IOH’s broader commitment to building an inclusive digital ecosystem, especially in underserved and remote areas. The center will offer training programs, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences focused on AI applications in local industries such as fisheries, agriculture, and regional commerce, helping local entrepreneurs and students develop critical digital skills.
Empowering a New Generation of Innovators
The Ambon-based AI Experience Center also reflects strategic partnerships between IOH, local universities, and government agencies to create long-term digital development. By combining access to cutting-edge technologies with on-the-ground training, the center is expected to cultivate a new pool of AI-literate talent capable of generating local solutions to regional challenges. Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of IOH, emphasized the importance of this initiative in empowering Indonesia’s digital transformation from the grassroots level. The launch aligns with the Indonesian government’s digital roadmap and IOH’s mission to extend equal tech opportunities across the archipelago.
