AI for the Hiring Hall
Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the famed Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has led a $6 million seed round in London-based startup Dex. The company bills itself as an “AI talent agent,” using artificial intelligence to connect top tech talent with startups and growth-stage companies. This funding marks Dex’s official launch out of stealth mode as it aims to reimagine recruitment through data and automation. Dex leverages large language models to assess resumes, match talent, and even prep candidates for interviews.
Disrupting the Recruiter Game
Dex was founded by experienced entrepreneurs Jamie Beaumont and Joey Jacobs, both of whom bring deep roots in the tech hiring ecosystem. Their vision is to replace traditional recruiters with AI-driven workflows that reduce bias, improve efficiency, and scale more affordably. Already, Dex claims to be working with firms like Mercury and Ramp, helping fill crucial engineering and startup roles. With VC backing and industry traction, Dex wants to become the go-to platform for sourcing and placing elite tech talent globally.
