Empowering the Future: MSDE and Microsoft Unite to Launch ‘AI Careers for Women’ in India
In a pivotal move to close the gender gap in tech, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with Microsoft to launch the ‘AI Careers for Women’ initiative. The program aims to empower young women by providing AI and cloud computing training across six Indian states. This joint venture will establish Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Telangana, transforming them into hubs of cutting-edge digital education and career development.
Each CoE will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure and focus on training underprivileged women in AI, cloud computing, and data analysis. The initiative aligns with India’s broader Digital India and Skill India missions, addressing both economic inclusion and a widening tech talent shortage.
The program also provides mentorship, job placement support, and access to Microsoft’s learning platforms. By fostering industry-ready talent among women, this forward-thinking collaboration aims to create a more inclusive and skilled digital workforce in India, ensuring that women are active participants and leaders in the AI revolution.
