Google Supercharges Search and Android with AI

Meet Gemini: The New Brain Behind Google

At its annual developer conference, Google unveiled a sweeping set of AI upgrades that integrate its latest Gemini model across core products including Search, Android, and Cloud. This move signals Google’s commitment to embedding powerful generative AI into everyday interactions. Gemini, now featured natively in Android 14, brings on-device assistance with real-time functionality, privacy-focused processing, and context-aware capabilities. A new feature called Gemini Live allows users to have natural back-and-forth voice chats with the AI, which can even adapt tonality and conversation flow. With Search, Google is pushing beyond traditional keyword results into AI Overviews, which compile generative answers to complex queries—now rolling out to all U.S. users. These enhancements mark a transformation in how millions will interact with Google daily.

AI for the Building Blocks of Business

Beyond consumer-facing tools, Google is turbocharging its Workspace and Cloud offerings with Gemini-powered assistance. In Google Docs, users can now get help creating tables, brainstorming, or rewriting text via Gemini. On the Cloud side, the new Gemini 1.5 Pro model is being made generally available to developers and enterprises, capable of handling 1 million token contexts—far surpassing its OpenAI counterparts. Google also announced the Vertex AI Agent Builder for developers to create custom agents, and the new Gemini in Databases and Gemini Cloud Assistants to streamline data and infrastructure management. These tools are designed to enable businesses to scale and innovate more efficiently using AI-infused workflows throughout Google’s ecosystem.
